I found this yesterday at a local thrift store that about once a month adds more jewelry to the cases and yesterday more jewelry has been recently offered. This piece really caught my eye and I gave exactly $11.00 for it as they always ask if I'd like to round up my purchase to the next dollar to support people in need. It appears to be made by a Belgian jeweler named Léon Pierre Gustave Picquot (b.1923-d.1971). by a small skull & crossbones makers mark. There is not a lot of information on this maker or examples of his work found online. What little sales history I've reviewed doesn't seem that his work sells for very much and that might just be because so little can be reviewed or searches going on looking for work by this maker with so little history. Guess this silversmith just hasn't gained any fame yet, but I think its rather marvelous with all the sparkle and colors it has.
