Found this in the front yard just about an hour ago. It's definitely a coin,no shank mark's what so ever. While cleaning this I noticed from an angle a bust of some kind. It's 17.4+/-mm and is only 1.0mm thick. This thing is worn to death.Any info would be great, thank's for looking.

I looks like an worn out wheat penny but I hope it is a rare coin. Thanks for sharing.

Dunno Joe but I am interested to see what it may be. Send me your regular email and I'll send you a buck pic from my muzzleloader hunt in the Tenn. fog this am. HH, Quindy.

Very interesting there Joe.

My Dad carried around a silver dollar as a good luck piece for so long that it wore down smaller then a 1/2 dollar so it's possible.

Could ask Crusader, if it is from across the pond he is likely to know.

Are the pictures of one side or both? :icon_scratch:
That sucker it really worn.
Hopefully you can get an ID Joe.

Here's a couple of more pic's,nothing matches up to a wheaty........Being in the hand's of the "finder" doesn't do this piece justice!!!

I don't see wheatie sorry and it doesn't sound like cooper when it hits. Got a silver sound to me. Hope it is! :icon_thumleft:

I still say wheat penny also...I've found one or two that were SUPER thin and smaller diameter than normal pennies. But I dunno, interesting tho!

looks like a seriously worn down wheatie to me too

you can pretty much make out the Lincoln on it

Its not from over here  (at least Britain anyway)

If that is a worn wheat....someone had a nervous problem.. :laughing7: .had to have rubbed the thing constantly.

Interesting....
Many times I've hoped for IH, then I see the shadow of that profile :laughing7:
sometimes still visible on paper thin salteaten cents..
I'm not sure, the head looks larger on your example :icon_scratch:

I know Herbie. For as long as the "wheaty" has been around, someone would have had to rub this thing(and the rim) for 100 yr.'s :laughing7: Just doesn't seem right to be honest.

Joe,
I may have figured it out. It's a Wheat Thin. :tongue3: :laughing9:
Sorry, I couldn't pass that up. :occasion14:

Its clearly a penny. The diameter is worn down just like the rest of it.

I didn't want to say wheatie either but damn if that doesn't look like a lincoln profile.
