Unknown Iron Relic

[Fossils]

Hey all. I found this iron artifact just a couple days ago and its had me pretty stumped. It's made up of a small loop attached to three prongs, with the inside of the loop being about the diameter of a penny. It was found next to an old wall in the proximity of some 18th century chains (though they might not be related). Any ideas as to what it could be?

Thanks for lookin and happy hunting!

The first thing that came to my mind was a guide for a cable. Maybe something like a lightning rod cable.

Yup. Looks like those extractors to me!

[Fossils]

It looks exactly like a shotgun shell extractor! Thanks for the ID
