Unknown lead from Civil War Site

[HI-McDunnogh]

Found this unknown, what I believe to be as lead (hit in the same range as bullets found), item on a civil war battle site. Looks like it could have possibly been a bullet at one point, but the diameter looks slightly too large.

Any thoughts?

I think it's to big for a bullet.
Looks more like end trimming of a lead pipe.

The Spout theory seem's feasible , or a carved replacement Spout.
