I'd appreciate ID and possible date range for this one. The other side is totally flat, so no help. It's about the size of a dime. Thanks!

Thanks very much. Any sense of the date range?
Spanish Half Reale "Globes and Pillars" coins were minted primarily between 1734 and 1771

The coin more than likely passed through the posession of a few pirates. Given the amount of wear on it, it likely purchased countless flagons of grog. If I recall correctly, a half reale was the price for a big pitcher of grog in its day. Sometimes small change like this was in short supply so the people would cut larger coins into "pie pieces". A standard Piece of 8 could make 16 pie pieces, each with the same purchasing power of your coin - a half reale being worth 1/16th of a Piece of 8.
