Unlocking Washington's Mining history! Found late 1800 to 1913 miners headlamp!
Alright T-Netter's! I am so happy today! I went into my lucky ghost town site. This ghost town has given up a 1950's lock and a 1905-1920 medicine bottle in the past. I wanted to see what other history I could unfold for all you people on treasurenet! It was 85 degrees and I drank 4 bottles of water!! Man was it hot! There was also a lot of signals in the ground today; so I had to be very carefull in what I dug. Well I spent around 4-5 hours at my spot in eastern washington today. I hunted around a field where the dance hall/ theater used to be. Let me tell you when I got there... I dug up a lot of trash and other items. There were so many signals!
Anyways... I got one signal on the left side of the field and pulled out what I thought was a part to a building. After researching it on ebay I found out that I had discovered a Coal Miners headlamp! The year they used it was late 1800's to 1913! Now for me I have never even dreamed of almost breaking the 1800 barrier in the matter of relics! But today my Minelab Explorer SE helped me out!
The headlamp says: Justrite
pattened december 17th 1901
Pattened May 7th, 1912
Pattened Oct 28th, 1913
Others Pending
My second signal was in the middle of the field. Now this signal was 2-4 inches down as was the headlamp. I dug and out popped the shotgun shell. Guess what year they pattened it? 1891!!! I am assuming it was fired off in 1913 because that was the last year the headlamp was pattened. Does that still count as breaking the barrier into the 1800's? I believe so.. in the matter of relics that is.
Here are the pictures.
I am very sorry! Some of them are really fuzzy! I have a horrible time taking pictures! Need to buy a new camera!

Oh yeah I also got a 1965 quarter and a 1960 penny. Very close to a wheatie and silver. I am pretty sure I will pull up more relics from this ghost town the next time I visit it! Wish me luck! I hope everyone had a great day of hunting!
