Found these CW items yesterday despite the heat. I think this is an officers sash buckle, but any other ideas would be welcome. Unfortunately it was broken when I dug it. Also found a nice floral button, an 1833 IH and a couple bullets. All in all a good day.

Pretty cool buckle, to bad it broke.

Cool and unusual buckle!
It will be intresting to know its origin.

Keep diggin'...

Diggervet,
Not sure but the buckle is of a rather light weight material and this is why you are probably thinking, "sash" but I believe most officers tied the sash. I could be wrong but possibly from a medical officers gear?

I looked for over an hour this morning trying to find any info on that buckle, and couldn't find a thing. :-\ Where is Cap't? He can usually ID the CW stuff readily.

Anywho....fantastic find!!! 8) Congrats!!! Nana :)

Unfortunately I made a typo, it should have been an 1883, not 1833,...Sorry!

Cool relics and nice Indian. Hope you find out more on the buckle.
