I have pulled some unusual relics out of an old ash dump which is now a small city park . As I said before they covered the dump up with 6 inches to a foot of top soil. I believe they did this around 1920 as I have pulled a 1924 wheatie from the top soil on a previous visit and today I pulled a 1927 wheat along with a 1940 and 2 1941 wheaties . yet no older coins from the top soil . Every so often I can punch through the top soil and pick up a non ferrous signal from the ashes below. It has usually been a good sized brass or copper artifact. I have not pulled a coin from the ashes yet at this site. .
Yet the copper/ brass comb I picked up in the ash today tells me I would get a signal from a large cent if it was in the same spot . Today it was the Brass eagle sitting on the post with the Letter M below it, that was the Relic find of the day ! Gonna post it in what is it. The brass gear lock was also a cool find ! As well as the Brass name plate . Thanks for looking ! MaineRelic
