Found on a horse farm in North Carolina an early metal "grabbing" tool. Looks like it originally had a wooden handle, unknown length, and when the teeth were spread they were held open by tension. When the center teeth are pressed the sides snap shut. It is about 12 inches long and made of rusty steel. Has anyone had occasion to use this tool and knows what it was used for? My guess is a snake or rat catcher. 20150116_085149.webp20150116_085215.webp20150116_085227.webp

WOW! Thanks Jeff, I knew someone on this site would know what it is and a picture to boot. Someone should invent an app that you could enter a picture into your phone on google images and it would identify it. But then it would take all the fun out of Treasurenet.

Give it about five years and we'll have it. They have an app now that will identify a movie and list the info from a screen shot or image on a TV.

I have one of those but have only ever used it to grab tree branches.
