I was hunting a relatively new fairground (40's) while waiting for some buddies to show up and found this 1861 Russian 15 Kopeck silver coin. We have pulled over thirty silver coins from this spot since December and this is the oldest (I found a no date SLQ last December). The area is very trashy with a lot of iron and other debris, so it is very tough hunting.
It is slightly smaller than a nickel and was holed some time in the past.
It came up as a repeatable 12-41 on my E-Trac and I thought it was going to be a what penny.
This is my oldest silver coin to date.
