Up in Middle Park today

Went up to Middle Park lookin over the scenery today. Man, we ain't got much snow yet but they got less than us. Little better amount on the trees and ground up at the Henderson Mill site.

We've been really warm and dry down here. They've suggested on the news one might want to get a bit of water on your trees and bushes. I keep thinking it's looking like the right conditions for another infestation of those bastardly no good grasshoppers 🤨 Also I'm hearing some bad predictions on the pine beatles really getting with their forest detroying activities in the near future.

Yeah TR when I first came to this part of the country I came across a guy from the forest service out checking trees. He told me he was monitoring somethin called a pine beetle that could destroy thousands of trees in the area in the future. Boy was he right. They've pretty much done what they can for us and I'm hearing they're movin closer to the front range. Extreme cold winters stop those rascals, and I haven't seen 30 and 40 below temps in a long time.

There was a bit on CPR about the pine beatles moving in on the front range and destroying the ponderosa pines. That'll be sad, as that's a tree I'm rather fond of.

WOW what beautiful country. I wouldn't get much detecting done, I would be more in awe of my surroundings and that usually only happens when I go to the beach and see all the thongs. Then when I get back to my truck, my wife asked if that was all the finds I found and I usually respond YEP with big old smile on my face. God bless America!
