<UPDATE!> It has been a long time since I have had a teller this nice! <UPDATE!>

I came into the Wells Fargo bank down the street with my dad. When I asked for halves she said she had about nine dollars worth (which were all clad) but told me she would see who else had some. I think there were about 11 tellers and she went to all of them to scrap together about $130 worth. Most the times they snap at me and say "no". I told her that I much appreciated her doing that. They produced 3 40%ers! :headbang:

I also got $150 in dimes. Which produced nothing! My last $2500 in white machine wrappers (yes, 2500!) has produced nothing but 1 1964 roosie. I used to get at least 1 per $150. So things need to pick up soon!!!

Totals this year-
4- 40%ers
1- silver dime.
Horrible stats considering what I have searched!

Thanks for reading.....

UPDATE:
Well my brother helped me look through the Halves yesterday. Id say he looked through 4 and I looked through 8. Well because I was in the back seat of my car, bored. I decided to look through them again, just to make sure. Glad I did, I was able to pull 2 more 40%ers from his rolls. So that makes 5 total, I gave him a little lesson on edge searching so hopefully this doesn't happen again haha. 5 40%ers out of about 130 dollars, I'll take it!

thanks

gtfan76,
If I remember correctly, you are still in school. So here is a bit of advice to warm up the tellers. Youth has its advantages. I know as I am old and an assistant principal at a high school.

For you, forget the donuts and treats. Instead, the teller might appreciate a hand written (not computer generated) note of thanks. You could even call the corporate office and tell them your age and how well you were treated by this particular teller. She gets a nice note placed in her employee file stating she received a nice compliment--which goes along way when it is time for a raise--and you have a teller that looks out for you. And, you might even mention to her next time you see her what you did cause her service was soooo good and she was not "biased" against you because you are so young. She has gained a loyal customer and some day, you may have lots of loot in that bank because of her kindness.

Just a thought & Good Luck Silver Hunting,
apush :read2:

I agree with apush, and have noting to add to her sage advice.

gtfan76,
I agree with Apush. Do what she says and things will be bright for you.
All the best and keep us all posted on your finds,

In my experience, courtesy goes a VERY long way.

I have also been noticing (in western PA) that dimes are becoming a bit more scarce, so I have had to step up the search efforts a bit. But that's not to say that big scores still can't be had. Just this week I found 2 Merc's (a '20 and a '44). When it comes down to it, you really never know what you're going to find. And ALWAYS check the teller trays too......last week I was fortunate enough to score a '40 Walker, a '62 Ben, and 2 40%'s from the same teller tray.

HH to all,

Also, Brinks (the clear wrapped rolls) have been pretty stinky as of late. But I did find two in a box this week, so there's still hope.

When I joined this forum a couple years ago, I was one of the few searching dimes. There have been a ton of new hunters searching dimes now, I realized that fact last year, and I've had a few of my dime orders poached too. ffd
