UPDATE What a box!!! Take a look - Walkers, Bens & Proofs- 1921's=$$$$

Update with pictures below- the 1921 halves are worth a little money!!!! ;D

We opened 2 boxes tonight-
Box 1 was pretty good:

box1.jpg

64x1,66x1,67x8,68x4,69x3, 80 error x 1. 18 keepers.

This 80 has a hollow spot on the face - anyone know this type of error?:

Box 2 was spectacular!!!

Here are 2 ends I managed to photograph before we opened them all:

Here is the result:

17D Obverse x1,21x2,35x1,37x2,39x3,40x1,42x1,43x2,46x1,50x4,51x1,52x1,53x1,54x2,56x2,57x1,59x1,60x1,66x1,68x1
76 error x1, 74sx1,79sx1,82sx1,84sx1,85sx1,88sx1,89sx1. 38 keepers!

The 1917 with a D on the obverse is something special but in rough shape.

This 76 has a blob (anyone got any ideas?):

Could this be certified as a dream box??? :D

1921 & 1921 S Obverse - I figure a G-4 on the 21, maybe a very good on the 21S:

Oh my goodness Tim. Another great hit!! Yes, I would call that a certified dream box...absolutely. Did Mrs. G help with this one too? If so, tell her congrats for me.

As for that 80 with the hollowed spot....I am not sure what the deal is. I have one just like it in the same exact spot that I have kept just for the heck of it. It almost looks identical.

Kudos on another great score Tim.

Re: What a box!!! Take a look - Walkers, Bens & Proofs-

The hollowed out spot is called a lamination error, where some of the core is missing. Most lamination errors look like the metal got folded over, then stamped, but sometimes the metal in the middle is just missing, which is what I suspect here.

the one with the blob behind the head could've been in a fire. A small bubble of air between the layers, heated up in a fire, nowhere to go as it expands..... instant blob. :D

Darn nice box you got a hold of there! ;D

Re: What a box!!! Take a look - Walkers, Bens & Proofs-

if that 1980 is a lamination error, its worth up to $25! :)

Fantastic box!! good snag

Re: What a box!!! Take a look - Walkers, Bens & Proofs-

Awesome box!!! That 80 could also be either a strike thru (something on planchet when coin struck) or could be post mint damage. It looks to have spent some time in the slot machines, so with the wear and tear it is hard to tell.

Great going Tim! The Silver Gods are still with you.

Great box Tim!Those 1921 halves are going to be hard to beat!I have a strange question. Did you ever get a premonition about a box before you opened it?Like it was going to be a good box.

Thanks all!

Thanks MM-

No premonitions until I do an end check - didn't do one on that box - I should have! - wife was saying there were silvers on her roll ends as she ripped into them - I scrambled to get what I could for a picture!
