Upset I didnt bring my camera today.....(spoiler...Flying eagle&seated)

Went out today to do some solo detecting and scope out some of the sites I researched over the winter.....long story short I ended up at a place that I have only been to once and didn't have long to detect that day......only found a 1911 wheatie. Today made up for it!! The site is a nice size apple orchard/farmhouse with a very large hotel across the road.....all that is left is cellar holes and HUGE apple trees. Was mainly digging around the apple trees so not many targets to dig, which was nice......found some relics, found a seated dime, but my favorite find of the day is a 1858 flying eagle cent...a first for me....enjoy the pictures adn I hope you all get out and find something good soon! It is a seal of some sort, not sure for what though......seems like its pewter and believe it says "Chemical Carbon Company" around the outside and "Corporate Seal 1900 NY" on the inside....it also has 2 little nubs on the back

Thanks Bushido for sharing, I wish you had your camera too. The apple trees sound delightful, plus during the season you could hunt and eat! Wonderful coins and relics, I hope you do the happy dance all week. HH

Nice I found one of those two eight years ago in very nice shape I never forgot the feeling of seeing that eagle. The 1858 was the same date as mine. Still need a seated this year it will come .Nice digs Rob.

Those eagle cents are pretty rare finds, only 3 years of issue,
and you are not likely to find a '56
I've been fortunate to dig one too

Thats another one of the great things about this hobby you never run out of firsts I know what you mean about it being nice not having too many targets . I hunted an old foundation site on sunday and only found 2 pull tabs in 4 hours ! What a relief cause I am by location a city hunter now . Nice finds and remember to have fun out there MaineRelic
