Us Beach Hunters don't have it as easy as some of you think

And we don't find rings every time out. This is all from waist deep water and almost every target was three to four scoops down with the big diamond head.

There was a lot I had to give up on, after five full scoops if I didn't have it that was it. My back definitely feels it LOL......

No not all of it some was Pete's (erikk) he uses a ex cal. ll

Its some sort of aluminum piece like a decorative plate or something now in the trash with the rest

I have just started to hunt for my 1st time ever this week and i had luck on my 1st day out. But now today was my 2nd and i just pulled pounds of pull tabs and just 1 dime. I guess i have alot to learn still....

No, Grafikdragonz, you are doing fine. If you aren't finding pull tabs you won't ever find many gold rings as 90% of the gold rings will respond like a pull tab. You just need to get the coil over it.

My collection from this week's hunting looks pretty much the same.

Mostly junk with a few coins thrown in.

I consider the days that I don't find the good stuff, beach cleaning and 'training days'.

On these 'training days', I'm learning more about the detector, learning more about reading a beach, and learning more about getting a nice tan in 70 degree weather.

No complaints, even if no gold is found.

Honey hole? THAT'S A BONANZA! But you are definitely right.... you don't get rings everytime out.

well all those great tabs you find mumzie is because cuz I showed you how to dail in the gold "sweet spot " on your detector -think of how many pull tabs you'ld get if you didn't have it "tweaked" just right.

Well yesterday I took out ther Infinium LS only because the place i ws going to hunt was pretty clean. Still managed to dig over 40 bobbie pins, a couple of tabs and 2 .925 rings before my batteries went down. It was time to quit for the day anyway.

I went out about 30 hours in Dec and found shi#@#@.....makes me more determined...so I need shi%#@ days to make a better md...I'll see you guys in April in Florida....

You pulled out a lot of "stuff" down there. Up here on Onslow Beach aboard Camp Lejeune we find our share of "stuff" as well. Sometimes, though, the marines will leave beer cans buried at two feet deep in the sand which are easy to locate. Sometimes, they're even unopened!
