US Box Plate

So - my brother postalgriff and I attended a Graduation party in TN and were informed that Confederate troops camped on part of property.
I was thrilled to find the mini ball and would have completely satisfied in that alone.
Rooting through the trash last night I was brushing off the inside of what I thought was a piece of garbage and could see the "U".
A bit beat up but sure happy to have recovered it!!
WOW - never throw away your trash without thoroughly going through it!

UPDATE - after further research I believe this is a Box Plate - not a Belt Plate

Awesome!!!! Congrats my friend. I have been out east and other places to hunt CW relics. I now have a pretty nice collection. My two plates are my favorite two items. The relics you found are a true part of the history of our nation.

still cant believe that!...what an incredible find and piece of history! too bad we didn't ID it in the field so we could have celebrated a little more lol. nice work Bro!
