✅ SOLVED US bridle rosette

Lead-backed brass bridle rosette. U S. Measures 1 3/4 in. dia. Iron attachment bar. Could someone give me an approx. age on this?

As long as you're certain that it is lead-filled (there seem to be several unexplainable small rust-spots showing through the lighter material)... the lead-filled (actually, it is solder) version dates from approximately the 1840s through a few years after the end of the civil war.

Thanks CBG! the rust stains on the back are from the iron attachment loop.

Since the U is not rounded at the bottom, I would say Indian War. Nice find. Thanks for sharing.
