My Garrett Pro-Pointer gave up ghost yesterday.
The switch's fault, for not being indestructible!
Just because I've used it a million times since I bought it many years ago (one of the 1st year they were out),
so it has seen use!!
It won't turn off, once it finally starts.
The switch boot is a bit sloppy with inside the hole it seats (and seals) in.
I noticed that the area where the switch comes in concat with the boot,
in the depressed position, is quite warn.
But if I take the boot off, and try to trigger the switch, it won't turn off - unless I un-screw the battery cap,
to where the machine turns off.
What shall I do? thanks!

I would call Garrett. Have been told if you send it in and they can't fix yours, they will sell you one for 1/2 price but would verify that with them.
Beats spending $130 for a new one.

Best of luck!
Jeff

The switch on mine stopped working and it was only a week old. But the retailer sold me a year old product....they sending me another one with postage to send the old one back pretty kewl

The Garrett can be repaired with ease and a bit of care...

Trust you get every thing sorted..

Might want to look at the new Deteknix X-pointer. It is a good alternative at $89.

I had to send in my gpp yesterday it stopped working. They said it was covered under waranty i hope this turns out to be a good experience.

Got my gpp back today it looks like they did a good job.I hope i don't have any more problems any time soon.
