Would you ever consider using one bank as your feeder bank then another branch as a dump bank? Right now I have one bank I use(been my bank for years) Using that for my feeder.
I also use another bank that only will take loose coins. So I'm using that as my dump. But I'm really itching to get some more coins after I turn these in. Would it not be worth it to unload these at one branch and buy coins from another of the same brand of bank?

Reason I'm not going to my feeder bank is that it's a bit of a ride because it is in my hometown. If I had other business I'd surely go but not today.

Hopefully that makes sense, because you would figure coins don't move around between branches do they.

Experiment with it. Your dumps could actually stir up some Ag. It is not a hard and fast rule, but you do run the risk of just running circles. Try it on a small scale and see what happens.

I think I will because my secondary bank has a few branches in this city. And it killed me turning in the $50 in dimes and not being able to turn it right around. My primary bank only has a couple branches I can get to and they are a distance away but I've always done well banking with them. Have a relationship with the tellers so definite good thing to get them to hold coins for me.
I think I'll go to the bank in the morning and turn this $50 into something. Not sure what to pick up.

Most of the time those secondary branches are tightly bound to the main branch in the city. Any large amount of coins dumped at the secondary branch will be taken to the main branch. Any coins you order at the secondary branch will come from the main branch.

Also, CUs seem to be bound to a larger commercial bank in the area. My credit union is bound to Wells Fargo. They get their boxes from, and send their coins to, Wells Fargo for processing.

Hmm I wonder who my CU is tied to in terms of a larger bank. Will have to check but not sure how. I just assume not really care as I won't be buying large amounts at a time. Just $50 worth is my limit for now. I just figure as long as I don't dump where I get them that I'll have some luck I hope.
But then there is the point, is buying less at a time worse than if you buy boxes of coins?Only thing I really could buy a box of is pennies it seems like. Not sure what the denominations each box is.
