So I have an 1883 no cents choice BU . Professionally cleaned.. I know it's screwed.. There are usual hairline die cracks around the obverse lettering.. But on right side obverse there in a big silver pimple , yes pimple not dimple.. My question is as to why it's there And what it could or may represent during minting process..Any advice will help.. Cheers! ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1460319113.448098.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1460319128.915374.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1460319145.799603.webp

While a cud is supposed to be adjacent to the rim, it isn't always. I think this is one of the "isn't always" ones.

It was just a gouge in the die.

Thank you for the feedback everyone.. This makes perfect sense with the gouge in the die!
