Hello, I upgraded to the V3i about 6 months ago..used the DFX before and a Fischer F4. I bought the Detech large coil about 2 months ago ,13 inches. Used it in corn fields and open fields here in Nebraska a few times. It does get better depth, I dug an old clock at 12 inches, and coins at 8 inches. The coil does have better balance too, the VDIs are more stable. One thing not so great is the pinpoint feature, I have a hard time narrowing it down to a 5 inch target field. Just have to dig larger hole to find the target. Let me know your results, thanks !
