Van Buren token?

I just dug this coin or token. The front is nice, “1837, Metallic Van Buren Currency.”
the obverse is caked right now. A little bigger than a quarter. Need to get some peroxide. On Cape Cod.
any ideas?

It's a "Hard Times Token" and a great find.
