What is the larger rock LRH ? I metal detect almost every day here lately and pick up a few points walking the ag fields but know little about the rock related stuff.:hello:

Its a stone mortar made from sandstone. All were found at various Seminole sites, 1836-1864.

Nice finds..
When you said Seminole my first thought was Florida.
The date sounded odd to me because the Second Seminole War was going on here from 1835 - 1842.
While Florida was doing it's best to rid itself of the tribe.
Then I noticed the "nutting stone" (mortor) was not Florida material...so I checked some of your past posts.
Just learned there is a place in Oklahoma called Seminole.

There's Seminoles out here, too. The main faction came out here under head chief Micanopy and other leaders.

They filled in Florida from the north after the actual native tribes had nearly been wiped out .
They were then driven out in huge numbers...many to your area...except for some that took refuge in the Everglades.
They were never actually from Florida as many think.

Yeah- Red Sticks and refugees from Alabama and Georgia. Their identity goes more in-depth than most folks think, too. Its rare to find any flint knapped items out here. I did find numerous flakes at two sites though, along with two points.

Alot of places that were native occupied ...were used over and over for centuries even thousands of years.
If the points you found are anything other than triangle arrow points they are most likely much older.
Any stone for that matter is more than likely much older than the 19th century.
