Hay, those zebras saved me from a ticket once. I was doing about 15 over when a state trooper pulled out from a driveway. I saw him pull out and just backed off the gas. He caught up at high speed, got close, displayed a big grin and made a U turn. Frank...

You know, the strange thing about that is if I hit edit, the image appears!!!
What I have to do is put the same image in again and backspace on the original image to get it to show.
Sometimes a popup which states invalide image appears when I try to post an image. They say they are working on the problem. Frank...

FYI: Vehicle work is all done with spray guns, full size and small air brushes.
Here's how I did the zebras.
I used various pictures of zebras and drew my image in a program called painter 9.5.
The image was then printed out full size.
I painted the tailgate with white auto enamel.
A wide piece of masking tape was then placed over the white.
I then placed a sheet of sally ( a special type of carbon paper) over the masking tape.
The sketch was then taped over the sally and traced with a stylus.
The sketch and sally are then removed.
Now comes the hard part! I cut out all the black areas. It wasn't easy keeping track of them.
I then sprayed it all black.
The eyes were then cut out and painted blue with a small air brush.
I then removed all the remaining masking.
The black paint was thinned to make the shadows. You have to be very careful doing this, but this detail makes the difference.
The bamboo panels on either side were done in a similar fashion.
For this type job on another vehicle tailgate, I charges $500, but the paint and supplies cost roughly half of that.
It's about 12 hours work. This job was dune 10 years ago so the price now would be a tad higher.
