Venetian coin 12 bagattini from 1600's

Over the moon finding this lovely specimen yesterday. Ground was so hard I'd need a pick axe. I'm lucky I didn't smash it.

Yes, this coin was found in central Slovenia.
There were always plenty of trade routes with Italy and parts of western Slovenia were under the ruling authority of Venice.

That's a great find. You're right that, although it is the same coin type, it's not from the same Doge. We played a "hunt the Doge" game on another Venetian coin recently. It's not a good game to play unless you have really good eyesight and a lot of patience... 22 Doges of Venice from the 1600s alone.
