Very early railroad button

Found this small flat button tonight with a very early looking locomotive on it. First flat button Ive ever found with something like this on it. Im guessing 1850s though it looks like this type of locomotive is possibly older. Railroad didnt come through here till 1870s

I think you got the date spot on. Can't remember the name for these thick rimmed/edged buttons, begins with a J I think.

I have seen these early Steam Engines used before on various types of buttons. (I have 1 or 2)
