Very large button? ID help greatly appreciated

I dug this object that I can only describe as a very large button-like disk with six raised bumped intersperced with some sort of design. It was found in the yard of a house that dates to pre-revolution times.

A very large cloak button, and very unusual designs. Looks like some gilt? I don't know how to date them, though.
