I found this giant in Lake Michigan today in South Haven, MI area. It seems to be similar to agatized sponges I've found in material, but not in look. I think this ones pretty cool. Haven't cut into it yet...Any ideas what it is?

Geeez, gives me the creeps. I remember watching a horror movie as a kid and I know this was the head of that darn monster that scared the crap out of me Rattlehead.

If it is a chalcedony it looks more jasper-ish to me. Not sure on fossil, isn't there a dedicated forum for fossils? ask there. :)
