Went to by far the best sale in my life today of a guy cleaning out his huge auto garage chock FULL (and I mean FUULLLL) of antiques that he collected for over 50 years. Got a lot of nice things, but this bottle I had no idea on. However, It looked nice so I threw it in the pile. Ok I placed it in the pile, cuz' I would never ACTUALLY throw it. It clearly has a hand tooled lip, however, it's unlike any I've ever seen before. I don't see a mold mark either. The cool thing is how it is embossed on the bottom in thick letters "Friedrich S Hall & Co" And in the center is a star.
So I know some of you experts might be able to help, so I was wondering How old it is, What it might have been for, and an idea on the rarity?
Thanks! IMG_2622[1].webp IMG_2623[1].webpIMG_2624[1].webpIMG_2625[1].webp

Hey Kevlardini,

This looks like some kind of mineral water or bitters bottle, 'sounds German. There are a lot of different mineral water/bitters bottles from Europe with very similar characteristics. It's probably dip-moulded, and that top looks applied. I'd probably guess that it was made around 1880-1890.

Nice bottle!

I with NJ on this one. Nice score Kevlardini. I've dug the base of one of these before, and it's nice to see what a whole one looks like.

Hey thanks NJ, cje, and epackage. It definitely looks similar to saxlehners bitterquelle bottle. That would be cool if it was German too. It would be the first German one in my collection!

Here is a saxlehners. Ive found a couple of these over the years in the mangroves. Yours looks to have nicer shoulder lines than the saxlehners. photo-63.webpphoto-64.webp
