Very old military button. Civil War, Earlier?

Here is a button I dug a whiile back on the site the Ceremonial Pipe I mentioned in an earlier post was found.
I figure the site was a camp or trade village. There are several fire pits or privvy pits that are waiting to be dug.
Any ID on the button?

Great button! War of 1812 era, as PBK mentioned. Better than your more common Civil War-era eagle buttons!
