✅ SOLVED Very strange items today!

So I had a hit at the base of an old cherry tree. As I started to dig I saw what looked like a trigger guard! Got very excited😁🙏! NOT the case… as you can see. Does any one have an idea of what these are? And age? I think the other trigger guard piece may still be in the area but my fingers were freezing so I had to bale out for now. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! (There is a piece of leather that was wrapped on trigger guard thing)
