I took advantage of the cool spring weather here in Middle TN and put together two productive hunts.
Please chime in if anyone knows what mystery lead item is with tompion on top of it.

Your toy plane is a Piper Cherokee. I’ve flown in those before. You can’t see the ground very well. I like the Cessnas with the wing on top better for sight seeing, and for sky diving.

I don't think so. I believe it's Tootsie Toy's Beechcraft Bonanza. In production from 1947 and first produced as a toy in 1948. Like this one, which came in bare silver metal and a variety of colours:

You’re right! I would have gotten it right if the tail wasn’t missing. I can see now the damaged toy doesn’t have a vertical stabilizer/rudder like a normal plane. I’ve flown in that Beechcraft too. My cousin was a pilot in WW2 and had one in the 60s.
