dusty old machine. wonder if this works ?
15 min w a pocket knife trying to pry the battery compartment
open. probably going to find a horrid mess of leaking batteries
NO. just no one has opened it in over 10 yrs prob. got a little
white lith on the slides. now she go fine.
weelllll..... MINELAB TECH. I BELEIVE IN soooooo....
ill bet she fires right up HOPE HOPE ....NO hmmm... twirling the
alkalines a bit.. AHA THERE SHE GOES ! I KNEW IT HAPPY DANCE
im already late in the day so it goes in the car .
with my other machines.... maybe ill try it for a few min
before gettin serious about hunting.
i arrive at park. WOW how does it work? well pretty standard stuff
here. lets see. test coin.... BINGO .. SOUND RIGHT OFF
and alittle tweaking of this knob here yes,
yes... discrim need to be higher a bit.
hmm.. wonder how the auto ground tracking works.?
oh well we'll choose fixed and reset.
hey a coin ..and another GEEZ THIS AINT A BAD LITTLE
machine...
local club members dennis and frank pull up to hunt
"ur not supposed to ruin our park" big jibe from
dennis as i have my back to the road and cant see whos
there. yeah u jerk,
sez who ha ha.... hey whered u get that machine i aint seen it b4
so long story.
we start hunting together i didnt know they were coming.
i found 12 or so coins b4 they arrive,inas many minutes
whatddya goin find w that old thing? sez dennis unlimbering
his xlt.
bang 10 min later i hit an old buffalo nickel...
ah see MINELAB RULES even old minelab ...even when
i dunno how to set the controls properly.
was the only genuine oldie found during 90 min hunt.
my hunt was prob just over 2 hours. managed the coins
plus 2 game tokens to alladdins castle. and some scrap
copper. great machine i think working properly all the way
around...ft 16000 1993. fun. just located manual
online i will study it next. who know what it might find
with the controls set right and some headphones ?
