virgin wreck diving

Last week I headed overseas to do some deepwater virgin shipwrecks.
As the trip unfolds I am adding updates to the AUE website. Check it out....
The wreck we dived yesterday was the most incredible thing I have seen. Nothing like it in the U.S. The bottom was literally white with 1800s china and porcelain, not to mention all the bottles and other goodies. Too crazy!

Another new wreck today, but no booty. Blown to hell. Update and pics on the website.

Another great today - kinda. We were compelled to turn around this morning and aborted our original target due to "lofty seas." We regrouped back at the dock, calculated the slack tide for closer to port, and looked at our options. We gave it another shot diving another unknown wreck a couple hours later. The seas were still sporty (to say the least), but we gave it a go. Visibility was not too spectacular, and the tide was already running on the bottom. However, I soon began pulling out porthole swingplates from the sand left and right, as well as china. Due to the low vis, I poked around slowly and eventually my buddy began flashing me urgently. I approached to find him hovering over the main bell wedged in wreckage...

The guys I am diving with don't even look twice at portholes. When you see some of the pics of their collections that I will post later, you will see why. Portholes are a dime a dozen over here....crazy.
