So I famously hit a yearly town wide sale in an established area that is "old money". The entire area is comprised of several towns, all having a town wide yard sale day at least once per year. This one was the ultimate sale as it was 2 of the best towns on the same day. The weather actually caused it to be postponed and it was a fairly chilly start on Saturday (but the weather ended up being perfect), which kept a lot of the crowd down, as this is usually a MOB scene. Headed out early with my picking buddy Ryan. In all, it was a MARATHON day of picking lasting almost 6 hours. We hit AT LEAST 100 sales for the day. I had laser like focus, meaning that I was going for quality not quantity AND I was only going for super deals. Basically, I was ONLY buying stuff that I knew was a score and for a dirt cheap price. Of course, I still picked up a few things that were whimsical or just "because".

Here is the day's take:

-general mills star wars press kit with cereal, toys, temp tattoos, and press info
-antique mirror with hooks (already hanging in my foyer)
-antique medicine cabinet with mirror
-antique picture book full of old photos
-fordson tractor tool box
-vintage bowling pin
-italian cat sculpture
-sterling spoon
-sterling leaf dish
-2 vintage blue books and 2 vintage red books
-new in gift box, guerlain shalimar PERFUME 7.5 ML
-handful of native american style jewelry
-7 gram 14k gold bracelet
-pile of classic rock records (beatles, zeppelin, grateful dead, etc) (not pictured)
-set of OLD golf clubs and leather bag (picked out of a free pile)
-also bought a BUNCH of small things as gifts/trinkets for friends, family, etc

Paid about $50 for the entire haul. Had a blast doing it and cant wait for next year's sale!

All quality stuff. You did well

Nice! I like the old photo's. Any background on them?

You did really well! The gold bracelet alone is worth almost 3 times what you paid for everything. If you ever decide you want to complete the set of Redbooks, I have duplicates of most of them and they're not expensive. Shipping the books would be expensive, but then again, we could find a place to hunt half way between your place and mine 8-) FYI, I was a contributor to the Redbook and the Bluebook from about 95-03.

Great stuff Ben! Don't know how I missed this post.

Well done JB! Quite a variety things as well. I love sterling but the mirror is pretty cool!!

Wow, sounds like an awesome day. Great finds. The mirror is cool.
