Waiting for Minelab repair of Excal ll

I got a call from the Minelab rep on 6/9 saying they received my machine and it would take 35-40 business days to repair. It's still under warranty. I bought it last August. I wonder if they extend the warranty due to the repair time. I charged the purchase with Master Card which extends the warranty another year. I never used this service from Master Card before and I hope the Excal doesnt become troublesome. The problem seems to be with the battery cable which doesnt power up the machine without holding it to make a good contact
