Are you guys MDers? I've been doing it for about 1 1/2 months now. So far my best finds are a very small 10K gold toe ring, a 1961 silver quarter, a 1943 Mercury dime, a 1953 Ford Motor Company token, and a whole mess of wheaties.

All of the above was found at Pontiac Lake state park.

you are doing alot better than me. i have been detecting for about 1 1/2 months also and i have found some coins, alot of pennies and alot of junk. {it goes with the territory} it looks like you are doing great!!

been hunting lots of beaches and parks! I've only found one old coin and lots of regular coins and a heck of a lot more pull tabs and nails! Heading to Clare this weakend (26th) to do some hunting with my brother! He has a spot in beaverton mi (1860's house with and old post office next to it ) hopefully it will turn some keepers. good luck to all!

try to post a little more though! Would like to know whats being found in the great state of Michigan!

Topshelf91,

Looks like pirate hasn't posted since '06... I live in Algonac so were neighbors!!! I just got done hitting a few tot lots in MC and got about 4 bucks in clad. Met up with another MD'er, young lad and his girlfriend at the MC beach. He only found a nickel there and then seen him again at one of the local playgrounds hording in on my new-found territory... LOL!!! Haven't found anything old yet but I have been doing some research on Algonac and have narrowed down a few areas to try. I'm a newbie like yourself and I really like being a treasure hunter thus far. Sure does take away from the fishing action though... :-[

If you ever want to go... let me know!

went to a park in Clinton twp to day found 6 dollars in change nothing old and a gold pendent! not much garbage and no pull tabs! tried the beach in new Baltimore and found nothing!

Been there, done that too... Just about a month ago. Also tried Brandenburg park and found a dime, 3 pennies and a plastic turtle. Wonder if those areas are picked clean? 6 bucks in clad would be a record for me, good job! I hit a park (Shadyside) in Mt. Clemens yesterday after work for about an hour. 1 penny and a set of car/house keys down about 5" Looks like they were from the 70's based on the style of the car keys. It's a huge park and lots of areas to detect but also alot of trash signals too. I'll be back looking for my first silver real soon.

Today i went to 25 mile and gratiot-94 on state land that i hunt found some clad lots of rusty metal and bullets. Theres an old farm house across the street, going to see if the owner will allow me to detect the prop. It's been vacant for some time now! also had two tics on me when i got home!

;DYes there is life in Michigan! I am near Jackson ,south and east. My partner died and I have been begging for someone to pop up and admit they detect. the name lonesomebob. Yeah! @ comcast.net .
