Got out today with my Lady . We packed all kinds of snacks and video equipment. Not knowing where we were going, just started hiking. This old farmhouse came into view. We started to hunt around the building but there was too much trash, so we ventured a little farther out and started picking up coins.

Started out finding the two IH pennies . And silver coated Jesus medallion.

Was happy to see old coins coming out and then found three silver dimes consecutively...1901 Barber , 1918 , 1920 Mercs.

Was really happy with the Large Cent , though didnt get a date off it yet.

At the end of the day , found the 1945 Walking Liberty Half. It was 2 inches under and sounded like a beer can..Thats my first Walker i found . Very happy.

Had a great day .

Jim

Thanks Romeo and Metalfinder..I do not hunt on land that is in question of hunting, I know the metal detecting code of ethics..And use them ...
I know that we have to police our own and make sure some rogue detectorists dont go and give everyone a black eye by trespassing and tearing up peoples land..But if you have a question about my detecting practices you can  p.m. me...Alot of people know me around here, and I shouldnt have to deal with this kind of crap , I dont come here for that.
I had a great day of metal detecting . And I like T-Net...Ill be back.

No offense meant, Jim.  You're sorta new here, and I felt I could ask a candid question.  In your original post, it sounded like you just wandered up to the house ruins and started hunting.  I don't really understand your reply.  ("in question of hunting")  From the way your first post sounded, the question was valid.  There was a detectorist here in my city--who is still on Tnet--that was arrested last spring for trespassing.  So if I seem rude, I assure you that your best interests, and the reputation of our hobby are foremost in my mind.  And metalfinder, no I'm not envious of a few nice coins.  I've found too many coins over the years to be like that.

Wait a second. The house has grafitti all over it, it looks like its about to tumble down, there's no fence around it and it looks like its in the friggin' middle of nowhere. ::)

Do you get indignant when someone buys a salvageable structure that gives pride of place, history and region bulldozes it tears out 100 year old trees builds a multi-unit and paves the whole lot? I know the tides against me but you can't detect through poured concrete.

Very nice photos Philly jim and thanks for sharing your cool finds.

Nice haul Jim  :occasion14:

Looks old as H-E-Double hockey stick ...I'd be extra carefull around that old building...looks like a 5 mph breeze might knock it over !

HH !
