What sort of events can cause people to abandon important things? Mental illness? Hospital? Jail?
Of course it just entered my mind maybe they are thieves, and stole that stuff, then got arrested? I just don't get it, I guess.
I fought for most of my younger life to keep from ending up just one more dispossessed tenant. There is still nothing sadder for me to see than a family's belongings set out at the curb as just so much trash. Then, to see people swooping down and just taking whatever they want. It's too close to looting to me. I know it's not and that the stuff will just be dropped in a dump somewhere, with the trashman getting the best of it eventually. Still, it is one of the saddest things I know and will not even think to scavenge. If it means I stay poor, so be it.
I know family's who were put out. It's hard to understand how people can just let treasures go like that but the other side is that they do because they have no choice. Usually, they have no clue where they're gonna even sleep next. Let alone pay for storage somewhere to keep some of it.
I know it's not your issue, this is your job. One must keep doing their job or wind up like the poor unfortunates.
In this modern day, people who have their back up against the wall, try to pay for some storage, hoping to keep something. Whilst they try to make another place to call home a reality. It didn't used to work that way. Back when I was coming up, you either paid the rent or you got put out. Plain and simple. Now days they try to store because it's cheaper then rent. Usually, it's just one more step and when even that becomes too expensive. They just have to give up.
Like I said, just too sad. But, that is just me.
I'm also happy that my friends Chug & Red prospered.
Nice stuff.
