wanting help with deciphering images

I found these images about 100 feet apart and i believe the one on the right to be a turtle with no legs, anyone else have a opinion? turtle sign.jpg
these were found in northern NM and found along the trail from the Colorado mountains to Sante Fe nm, they appear to be 1600 to 1700 from the shape of the cross, could be wrong, i believe there is a treasure buried nearby.

these are carved into sand stone faces of over hung rocks about 4 to 5 ft. off the ground the turtle is so faint i used charcoal to high lite it, the other was more weather protected
