A customer used this with her change paying for her items. It’s rough probably only worth the nickel it is.it’s wore smooth on the backside the face is nearly just an outline now with the stars somewhat visible the date is 1883-89 the last number has big pit where it should be. Just thought it was cool a coin that old being used for its intended purpose.

Good catch! I still look at pocket change for old coins - and they still are a thrill to find.

Hi, Good find. Congrats:icon_thumright:

Put that tired old girl in a flip, great job!!

Nice save from "the wild". I still check every coin that comes into mine and my wife's hands. It's always exciting to find one that old. We still receive silver dimes in change periodically. Like Joe-Dirt said, I'd put that in a flip and mark it.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Nice find! I look at my change all the time. Just this weekend I got a '56 wheaty in my change (for an ice cream cone on Cape Cod).

It's always a nice surprise to get something like that in your change.

Very cool to find that in the wild!!! Congrats!

that's cool to be found in circulation. some time back around 1998 or 1999 my Dad got a seated dime in change

Occasionally something like that pops up.....good find.

Good eye catching that, congrats, Welcome to tent from Upstate NY

A few months ago I went to lunch with my grandma and she went to pay with a bill from 1928. She said she was pretty sure she got it as change for gas. It was only a $1 bill, so she let me keep it.
