So if the Apollo 11 moon landing was fake what about Apollo 10? They orbited to the moon, even the dark side. Was that fake too? How about Apollo 8 and 9? Were the Gemini space flights fake too? Perhaps even the early mercury space capsules were fake? Even the Wright Brothers might have been staging a fake flight in North Carolina back in 1902. Geeeeeezzzz.

Cant believe this is still an issue. I guess 9/11 was faked too, and all the passengers are at a secrete base, hanging out will Elvis, Kennedy and maybe Adolf is there too.

The landing was real but some film footage was faked in a studio. IMHO the actual footage revealed details considered too controversial for us humans to digest.

Gravity Jeff the answere to your pquestion is gravity. the landings and return were real. The space shuttle was invented so we could land on earth and reuse the vehicle. I would not want to be the guy going back into space in a reused Apollo Module.
