washington (WA) Gold ??

Washington is not know for it's gold. There were many miners that stopped here on their way to Alaska. There are many minerals and gem stones, however. Many are near the Cascade mountains and in the eastern part of the state. The town I live in is called Gold Bar. But, I believe that was based on hope more than actual findings.

There is all sorts of gold in Washington, starting in Liberty over to Republic and clear up to the Canadian border in the Okanogan county.

thomas p terrys treasure atlas for washington has many accounts of gold...my personal favorite is the fellow that became lost, found a mountaintop covered in large gold nuggets and skeletons,,,,,,,,,,see FREE i think he has all the terry info.......gldhntr

No shortage of gold to be found here just have to be on the eastern side of the state. They find nuggets etc over there all the time. If you are curious or want to see pics, checkout www.bedrockprospectors.org or www.washingtonprospectors.org. Both are local washington clubs and have many claims etc you can use as a member. You can find gold on the western side of the state as well, just mostly really fine gold. Lot of beach placers along the coast near La Push.

In the Cle Elum area near Liberty, Swauk Creek has gold.
