Water detecting question?

Hello all I am look at the garret sea hunter Mark 2 looks like a solid machine but in not sure. I'm look for something under 800. Any feed back about the sea hunter Mark 2 or any other detecter would be great thank

A used Excalibur would be a better choice IMO. Nothing wrong with the Sea Hunter, but, keep in mind it's a PI machine so every target will sound the same....good targets, bad targets, or iffy ones in between. Personally, I hate digging nuts, bolts, nails, screws, rusty fish hooks, etc at the beach. For other choices in that price range or less, the Tesoro Sand Shark is another good option, but it has the same drawbacks as the Sea Hunter.

I gotta say that the sounds are not all the same, at least with an Infinium. There are low-high, high-low and variation depending on the target. It takes some learning but I got pretty good at distinguishing coins from bottle caps from pull tabs from bobby pins. The PIs will kill in the wet sand and surf and will go super deep.
