They are all good machines .you have to rate the operator of the machine... pick one and learn how to use it . If your only finding coins 6" deep with a 10" coil YOUR DOING SOMETHING WRONG..
If you are referring to my post, you are incorrect. Those top four detectors have capabilities that the others simply do not have as far as detecting in moderate to high magnetite mineralization on land. It doesn't matter how you set them up at least where I detect. It's not even close.
Before the Equinox 600/800 was released, the only decent detectors for the ground conditions here were the Etrac and CTX 3030. Multi IQ and the tech being used in Deus 2 and the Legend have made a huge difference as far as overall effective depth and target ID accuracy in moderate to high magnetite mineralization inland.
I almost gave up on coin, jewelry and relic detecting back in 2017 because I was so frustrated with all of the supposedly top tier VLF detector performance as far as depth and target ID accuracy, using them in public areas and private permissions where beep-dig everything was simply not an option. I was getting half or less of the depth that people detecting in milder soils were reporting and low and mid conductor targets were all showing up in the high conductor range unless those targets were 3" deep or less. Minelab's Multi IQ was an incredible advancement for those issues when soil conditions were not mild/perfect.
Here is a 4 minute video I made a few years ago featuring Deus 1, AT Pro and the Equinox 800 on a surface US nickel, 3" deep nickel, 6" deep nickel (well established target in the ground for almost 10 years under the spray paint cap) a surface US clad quarter and a similarly well established 6" deep clad quarter under the other spray paint cap. The sandstone flagstones are local to the area I live in and have a similar ground balance point to the actual ground that they are covering. They also are full of magnetite. I use them to keep the dirt under them from getting re-contaminated with man-made metal targets. They are 1" thick. As soon as I changed the Equinox 800 from multi frequency to selectable single frequency at the end of the video, target ID accuracy went out the window. I deliberately recorded the Equinox 800 with sensitivity on 11 of 20 and used its smallest 6" coil just to make the test more difficult. Equinox 800 results would have been even better with somewhat higher sensitivity and a larger coil.
At the beginning of the video I gently pump the coil on Deus 1 to activate the mineralization meter on the far right edge of the display. Magnetite mineralization fills up 75% of the mineralization meter.
I tried everything possible on Deus 1, AT Pro, AT Gold, AT Max, F75, F70, F19, MXT and its variants, DFX, V3i, Tesoros from Silver uMax to Tejon.....they all had similar poor results doing the exact same test and in the field as far as overall depth and target ID accuracy here.
