Waterproofing a camcorder?

A friend of mine is a plumber and uses a fiber optic camera lens on long coiled cable w.monitor to check sewage lines ....

Just goes to show that some guys really do EARN their keep!

I agree that a camcorder rig is not the way to go. You can get some very low light level cameras with infrared illuminators for minimal dollars these days. Why re-invent the wheel. You can still plug the Audio/Video cables into your camcorder topside to record whatever you find. You also have the advantage of being able to weight the cable to make it easier to drop. at best buy or curcit city they sell the plastic cases to make a vid camera waterproof and reg cameras also... it was rather $$$$ though....
