Weekend finds

[JimK]

Hello all, some plans got canceled so we managed to get out a bit over the weekend. We went back to the union camp site again. If these finds are getting boring to some I apologies but we are excited by each and every one of them. Between us we managed to find 15 bullets, the highlights of which are eight 3 ringers (2 pulled, one melted), four .44 cal colt pistol bullets, one 2 ring type 2 Williams cleaner, one .44 cal Watervliet Arsenal solid bullet (I think) and a large musket ball (our first one). We found a few pieces of camp led, a couple of Spencer cartridges (rough), 3 button backs (one cuff) and two buttons (one rough and delicate and one in good shape). My wife found a shoulder piece to an epaulet to go with the other epaulet parts that we have already found. We also found the usual “what the heck is it” pieces and a ton of nails and wire. But over all a successful and fun hunt. As usual any and all comments are welcome. We are still learning. Thanks for looking

You keep on posting those photos JimK....its never boring to see that CW history come out of the ground. I'm kind of like you, I get so excited the night before a CW hunt that I can't sleep. Congrats on your great finds.

Thanks for the replies everyone. It is almost as fun to share the finds as it is to find them.
