Weekend Finds

I managed to get out a little bit last weekend. The weather was nice, and I had a good time, but the finds were meager.

I only managed to find one silver coin. Here it is, an S mint marked war nickel. I would show you a picture of it cleaned up, but I couldn’t find it when I got home. First one I’ve lost in 4 years, oh well.



This looked good in the dirt, but turned out to be a relatively modern Great Seal button.



I’m always bummed when a broken lead toy soldier shows up. I wish they held up better. This is a Manoil #23 Crouched Machine Gunner. I got a complete pic from the internet.



I found this lapel pin from the long defunct Charlotte Technical High School. It took a bit to figure it out, and I learned some interesting local history. I included a pic of the old school.

very cool finds, again. I used my GI Bill to go to a local VO-Tech school, really paid off. the soldier is still a cool find, might have suffered war wounds(kids). So did you have the lucky token before or after you found the war nickle? hopefully it will turn up. Don't feel alone, I lost my coin box for a week, just found it yesterday in a side pocket of passenger door...no idea how it got there.

I had the lucky token, when I lost the war nickel. It's all good though, some other detectorist will find it some day!
