Weekend rings

I normally find about one ring a month, but this past weekend I found two. More shockingly, they were both .925 silver (I've only found silver once in the past year). I guess it was bound to happen eventually.

Same area. But each ring was my entire find for each day at three hours per trip. I envy those people who find multiples of gold and silver on the same day. But I realize that Clearwater is at the bottom of most detectorists I-need-to-detect-at-that-beach list.

Still getting a ring each time out adds up over the year.
Swing low and slow
I was out for the 1st time on Saturday, I counted my swings to go a couple of feet with the HF coil 9x5".
6-8 times back and forth to do the short distance.
It's never a race, slow like a turtle always wins the race.

I find that most of my great finds tend to come from overlooked beaches. I'm not out as often these days, but it's usually pretty rare for me to find precious metals anecdotally, I go several outings without finding anything noteworthy.

Yea, at Clearwater if you look at the cam videos at night ya might see 5 - 10 detectorist combing the waterfront and blanket line. Come morning, most targets are gone...heck, they're even in the water at Clearwater at night!!

They also team up when in the water, and they walk side-by-side as they move along the beach line, like multiple combines in a wheat field. You'd think that with the horde of people crowding Clearwater Beach, there would be lots to find in spite of the detectorists. But a year's experience has told me otherwise. This is the down-side to living in a county with a million people packed in it.
