On mighty AP's request, here are some more. From a different chapter in my book, Victorian Mysteries by Jo-Anne Christensen, i have strange facts from a book called The Book of the damned by Charles Fort (yes, I'm quoting a book as it is quoting another). These strange mini tales were collected by Fort in the 1800's and were generally over looked. They even challenge the chronology of human existence.

1844- A laborer finds a gold thread embedded in solid rock at 8 feet near the tweed river.

1800's- another quarry in north England produces a nail embedded in solid rock. The point was eaten away by rust, however, the head was perfectly preserved. The rock was not mined from the serface.

1851- A man returns to his hometown with a souvenir rock of quartz. As he showed it to hie friend, he dropped it and inside was a perfectly shaped nail, like a 6 penny nail.

1852- a man hires laborers to mine some lime. some of them comes back with a strange well-made tool. It was an instrument with a socket at the end, with the socket being filled will the same limestone as that surrounding it. There was no flaw in the rock to allow the instrument to be found there.

1852- a beautiful bell shaped vessel was blown out of a wall of solid rock in massachitsets. The vase was stunningly crafted. The origin was never determined.

1891- a women breaking coal for her fire discovers that two pieces of coal are linked together by a gold chain. The craftmenship is ridiculously beyond the craftmenship of the people who supposedly inhabited Illinois

Ok, now these you gotta read

A miner in California disovers a skeleton will mining in solid rock. It was 200 feet deep and complete. If you find the truth behind this dubious, then.....

A skull was found in solid rock. It seems to resemble a Neanderthal man, however, their bones are only found at three feet, while this is in solid rock

This one is a weird murder/suicide mystery. After the carnage of WW II, a 7 foot long cylinder was unearthed behind a church in London. It was tightly sealed with many bolts. When opened, there was a fully clothed man that seems to date to the mid-Victorian era. Inside with the corpse was a postcard, with the date blurred, that had two names (unfortunately, they were initials). Also, a few valuables were inside the capsule. He was sealed in a way that required two people. The details of his death will never be known, unless an impossibly old murder comes to confess.

I know that these stories lack detail, so plese ask for more info if needed.

These are the last of my short stories......if you wish me to continue, i will have to resort to longer stories. I have ones about a time traveling Victorian hit by a car, some about impossible cylinders of submerged rock on a mission. Want more?
